It was a busy weekend

A new family is moving in on the street where our son Buddy and his family live.  It was nice weather Saturday, so everyone came to watch the moving van unload.  The girls' softball team took advantage of the turnout to sell lemonade to raise money for the bat and hat fund.
There was a dedication ceremony up to Jumping Branch Lake this weekend to name the footbridge after Fire Chief Dewitt Pace.  Chief Pace said he appreciated the gesture but would have to lose about 50 lbs. to meet the maximum weight limit to use it.  Chief has been eating a lot of Gayle Mosely's pies lately.
Mavis Pinkston was beside herself with pride today.  She just learned that her niece made the Dean's List at her college last term.  She received straight A's except for a B+ in shampoo procedure.
And that's what's happening in Hoake's Mill.
Love,
Caroline
